Interns for Conservation of Great Green Macaw (Ara Ambigua) in Costa

LOCATION:
Tropical humid lowlands of Northeastern Costa Rica.
DESCRIPTION:
Assist team of conservation biologists researching migration and foraging
habits of the endangered Great Green Macaw (Ara ambigua) in northern Costa
Rica. Learn field research and radio telemetry techniques, GIS and other
conservation methodology.
PROJECT:
We need people able to endure mud, rain, heat, cattle pastures, long hours
on ATVs and rustic small town lifestyle in exchange for the fulfillment
of participating in an applied conservation project.
WHEN:
Year-round Commitment: We ask for a 3 month commitment in return for room,
board and training.
SKILLS:
Basic Spanish and interest in community outreach imperative.
LOGISTICS:
Interns will stay in a private house with facilities for cooking, working
and living.
EQUIPMENT:
Appropriate clothing for the tropics, and volunteer's personal medical
equipment is required.
